PROCEDURE FOR TRAVELLING GALAPAGOS

PROCEDURE FOR TRAVELLING TO THE GALAPAGOS

The Galapagos Governing Council has implemented NEW proceedings in Galapagos in order to have a better immigration control:

1. PRE-REGISTRATION

1a. Go to http://www.cgg.gob.ec and click on the button “Pre-registro”

1b. Once in the “Pre-registro” page, put you id (passport/ID number)

1c. Complete the form on the next page. If you meet all the requirements to travel to Galapagos, a confirmation message will appear. You will then receive an e-mail with instructions for next steps once at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil.

2. TRANSIT CONTROL CARD EMISSION (TCC)

2a. Once at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil, present a photo ID at the “Consejo de

Gobierno” counter.

2b. Confirm your personal information is correct and pay the $20 USD fee (in cash) for the TCT.

3. BAGGAGE REVIEW

3a. Next, go to the Agency for Biosecurity for Galapagos (ABG) counter to have your bags reviewed. This way we can verify that you are not bringing any items that could endanger the biodiversity of the islands.

3b. Once you have your TCC and have had your bags reviewed by ABG, then proceed to your airline check-in counter.

Important: Baggage allowance is 20 kg on the flight to Galapagos (TAME and AVIANCA) and one carry-on luggage. Carry-on luggage must be 10 kg with AVIANCA and 8 kg with TAME. Extra weight must be paid.

4. PRESENT YOUR TCC

4a. Once you arrive to the airport in San Cristobal or Baltra in Galapagos, an immigration control agent will ask to review your TCC.

5. ENTRANCE FEE FOR GALAPAGOS

5a. After showing your TCC, you should pay in cash the Galapagos National Park entrance fee amount according to your category in the following table:
